Gentleman Jack
A premium version of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee whiskey, Gentleman Jack exhibits impressive complexity and flavour. The main difference is that it enjoys a ‘double mellowing’ as it’s filtered through charcoal both before being fill into the barrel (the Lincoln County Process) and before it’s bottled.
Certainly good enough to enjoy on its own, in his book Whisky: The Manual Dave Broom also suggests that Gentleman Jack actually works better than the regular Jack Daniel’s Old No.7 in a Jack and Coke too.
This Tennessee whiskey is filter through charcoal twice, once before being fill into barrels and once prior to bottling. A rare Jack Daniel’s release which is amber in colour and rich with toasted wood and vanilla.
Gentleman Jack Tasting Note
Nose: Spicy nose with caramel, charred oak and a little aniseed.
Palate: Liquorice-led palate with oak and cinnamon, a touch of banana too.
Finish: Roasty and toasty finish, plenty of spice and citrus too.

- Gentleman Jack is a smooth and refined whiskey from Jack Daniel’s, known for its unique double charcoal mellowing process. First, it undergoes the usual charcoal filtering process like regular Jack Daniel’s, but then it is filtered a second time before being bottled. This extra step gives it a smoother, softer taste.
As a result, you get a balanced whiskey with sweet notes of vanilla, caramel, and oak, along with a subtle hint of spice. The finish is clean and mellow, making it easy to sip straight, on the rocks, or in cocktails.
In conclusion, Gentleman Jack is a great choice for those who prefer a smoother, more refined whiskey. Its double charcoal mellowing creates a well-balanced, easy-drinking whiskey that’s perfect for any occasion.
